Select a size: Measure your space first. As a general tip, make sure your custom area rug sits a couple of feet from any walls or is large enough to be placed underneath furniture. Beyond this, one of the significant benefits of custom rugs is their flexibility. You can choose a size and carpet type that's right for you.
Think about placement: Is this a rug going over carpet - perhaps for aesthetic variety, additional cushioning or insulation? Or will it be placed over another flooring product? And, will it be close to an entryway or in an area of your home with minimal foot traffic? Rugs allow you to have the best of both worlds.
